Subnet (CIDR block)
A range of IP addresses that forms one network, written in CIDR notation such as 10.200.0.0/29.
A subnet is a contiguous range of IP addresses that machines on one network share. CIDR notation gives its first address and size: 10.200.0.0/29 holds 8 addresses. In Isothrum, each cable is its own /29 subnet, and the two machines it connects take its first two usable addresses.
