Container

A lightweight, isolated process with its own filesystem and network, started from an image such as nginx or alpine.

A container runs an application with its own filesystem and network interfaces, but shares the host's kernel. It starts in seconds from an image (for example nginx:1.27-alpine), which makes it ideal for services in a lab. In Isothrum, a container machine runs on Docker.
